1.Wood Stores Carbon

Wood takes carbon out of the atmosphere and stores it within. Carbon emission in the atmosphere is argued as the reason for climate change around the world. Every time we burn fossil fuels such as gas, coal or oil, carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere. In a natural carbon cycle, carbon dioxide is re-absorbed by plants and trees. Wood stores the excess carbon that it receives from the air internally for the life of the product and by wearing or using a wooden product you are helping to remove these chemicals from the atmosphere.

2. Wood products emit less Carbon Dioxide
Since the bigger issue regarding climate change is carbon dioxide emissions, we need to do our part by burning less fossil fuel. For example, we should look into less energy-intensive ways to manufacture and produce goods. With this in mind, the process of production of wood products is extremely energy efficient, which gives wood a low carbon footprint. By purchasing a wooden product, you are indirectly endorsing the use sustainable manufacturing practices.

3. Wood is renewable
Do you know that wood is the only major building material that grows naturally and is renewable? Wood can be harvested and the area can be replanted with tree seedlings. Wood is also biodegradable and breaks down in the environment over time. When wood is no longer usable, it can be readily absorbed back into the earth. Although most wood products include other materials, it is still much better to than using a non-renewable material as your main source of material.

4. Wood just looks cool
